A digital library highlighting and celebrating the work of Black women and nonbinary filmmakers.

Black Women Directors was founded in 2015 by Danielle A. Scruggs. The mission: to expand the film canon and increase the visibility of Black women and nonbinary filmmakers by indexing their work, fostering online conversations, hosting screenings, and facilitating hiring opportunities.
