Chazitear

Chazitear specializes in film and television production, writing, songwriting, and directing. She proudly calls herself the dialogue queen. With sharp wit and an eye for detail, she brings life to every project by being involved in every step to ensure accuracy. Chazitear focuses on telling the overlooked stories of Black and Brown women by presenting them in a different light.

Growing up in a beauty salon gave her a fresh perspective on sharing diverse and inclusive stories. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing in Entertainment from Full Sail University, with specialized training in television writing.

Her recent credits include ALLBLK's Hush, BET's A Wesley's Christmas Wedding, and BET's Wake, where she worked alongside Bree West, Chuck West, and Tracey Edmonds. Chazitear is also the Director of Development at Octet Productions, riding the wave of her NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Writing in a TV Movie or Special for A Wesley South African Christmas, for which she is co-writer, producer, and co-executive producer.

She directed, co-wrote, and co-produced the award-winning feature film A Kismet Holiday, which won the 2024 Best Narrative Jury Award at ESSENCE Film Festival, and is currently in post-production for their next project, The Class Reunion, written by Barshea Lowery, an official selection at the 2025 Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival. Additionally, she served as director and producer for their series Unsolicited, which was named Best Series at ABFF 2024.
